Diego says, "This has been the best six months of my life!"

Six months already, wow how time flies! Diego is getting cuter and bigger every second. He's doing some rolling and sitting, but he really gets exciting about standing (while holding onto something of course). His curiosity, which has always been healthy, has also grown. He is extremely interested in Ravenna cat and we wouldn't be surprised if she was his main motivation in learning how to be mobile. Watch out kitty.



Little Diego is eating solid food! He enjoys finely milled yams and blueberries with rice cereal. Squash has been tested without much interest. But so far it's clear that like his parents, Diego holds food in the highest regard.

As you can see he's still sporting his gummy smile, but we think there may be some teeth on the way....

5 Months in 2008

Sweet Baby D has arrived at the 5 month mark with his toes in his mouth. He has also learned to spit and is still sleeping 8 or 9 hours in a row at night. Mommy and Daddy couldn't be more proud of their boy. He is also dangerously close to sitting up unaided and rolling over from back to tummy. Some of his current favorite activities include drinking from his sippy cup, grabbing at the cat as she walks by, dropping toys, then watching adults pick them up and drooling over mom and dad's food.

Speaking of food Diego recently received two sets of heirloom eating utensils. With the spoon from one of these sets, he took his first bite of food. The food was Grandma's homegrown, homemade applesauce. Although he spit it out, it was very exciting. We're thinking he'll hold off on more new food for another month or so.


Diego spent Christmas and New Year's with his grandparents and the rest of the family in Boulder. He was really impressed with Grandma's holiday decorations.

4 Months of Diego

This month has also brought many fine jewels such as the full out giggle and belly laugh (somebody has to laugh at mommy and daddy's jokes besides mommy and daddy), advanced toy grasping and chewing, the 5 second bottle hold, a fascination with drinking water from a glass, and consistent sleeping through the night! This month has also brought a not so shiny gem we like to refer to as "monster baby cry." MBC emerges when sweet Baby D is tired and/or hungry and acceptable sleep options and/or booby are not presented ASAP. Think part helium influenced lion roar and part fingernails on chalkboard, that's MBC. Eh, small price to pay for the afore mentioned milestones.
