Baby Mobile at 9 Mos: Mom, Dad World at End, Not to Mention Cat's
Diego, like most babies, has the uncanny ability to go into a room and seek out the most dangerous item and/or situation. Really. Without fail. Now that he's mobile, all bets are off and the motorcycle keys have been vaulted along with all household knives and scissors.
He is the king of the living room and all his subjects just try to stay out of his way. He especially loves the TV armoire, the wicker blanket hamper and his "climbing wall" where he keeps his vinyl records neatly alphabetized.
Diego knows that he's going places and is very proud of himself.
Sometimes he gets his little self in some awkward situations when his feet get away from him.
Ravenna has been amazingly tolerant and tries her hardest to stay cool with a crawling, grabbing baby.

Lucky Number 8

Over the past couple of months, Diego decided to stop messing around and get to work. He now has two bottom teeth (and is working on the top level), he has mastered the sitting thing, he has a black belt in crawling backwards, and has pumped enough iron to pull himself up to a standing position. Dang! Mom and Dad have been furiously baby proofing the house.

He has also caught on quickly to signing and uses the signs for "eat" and "milk" frequently and appropriately. We also gave up hope on his first word being either Mama or Dada, as he loves to shout "gat!" every time he sees Ravenna. To her credit, she does find him more and more fascinating and even gets close enough to allow him to grab her now and then. This, of course, results in very furry baby hands. Ew.

Some of Diego's favorite things right now are:
Nancy Drew lunch box. Diego *hearts* Nancy Drew (and Nanna of course)

Playing until he passes out on Mommy

Being laundry

Bath time with strategically placed ducks
Eating sour fruit

And acting a fool with Daddy
